To Whom It May Concern:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Eva Moon.

I have known Eva for 15 years. Having watched her develop from novice to seasoned artist I cannot express strongly enough my admiration and respect for her talent and diligence in pursuing her professional work as a composer, lyricist, and performer. But it is her writing, especially, that has emerged as her greatest gift.

I was a working actor and dancer in Los Angeles when a Juilliard scholarship took me to New York. I played featured roles on and off-Broadway, for such directors as Harold Prince and Joseph Papp, after 7 seasons and more than 20 principal soprano roles at New York City Opera. During a career of nearly 50 years, I have been directly involved in over 100 professional projects as, variously, performer, director and producer.

Working with Eva on a number of her theatrical and musical projects, I have been impressed with the authenticity of her creative output, and her refusal to settle for less than her best. I mentored her during the development of her one-woman musical, “The Mutant Diaries,” subsequently seen on stages across the U.S. and in London, which I was pleased to produce at the award-winning Rogue Machine Theatre in Los Angeles. This solo show is filled with her trademark humor and fine command of language.

She further developed her skills as a playwright in her most recent work, “First You Jump” -- a unique and highly theatrical piece. I have no doubt she will continue to grow as an artist, and eagerly await her next creation.

Eva Moon is a significant talent and I recommend her without reservation.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Yours truly,

Penny Orloff
